Direct EDI servers and systems are located in the XO Communications Hosting and Collocation facility in San Diego, CA. This facility boasts fully redundant electric power with diesel generators for backup, diverse paths and providers for Internet access, and automated, reliable security services and industry standard environment control features.
All server cabinets are Zone 4 earthquake rated with isolated ground connections. Each server cabinet is supplied with two independent power circuits providing redundant power feed to all servers.
Airband Communications supplies Direct EDI, Inc with redundant internet connectivity from XO Communications and Level 3 to provide best route and maximum uptime. Multiple carrier network architecture creates real redundancy and ensures that customers can reach Direct EDI, Inc servers using the optimal upstream network. In the event that any provider experiences downtime internet traffic is re-routed through additional network carriers until the problem is resolved.
The Data Center Facility boasts 5 levels of security:
1. Onsite security personnel 24×7x365.
2. Onsite 24×7x365 Network Operations Center, monitoring all external and internal security and threats.
3. Closed circuit television security system throughout the data center.
4. Combination of access card and photo identification system is required to gain physical access to the facility.
5. Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for each client to ensure only authorized personnel has physical access to co-location space.
Airband Network Operations Center (NOC) operates 24×7 and is staffed with a full contingent of highly trained engineers and technicians to ensure network performance.
Direct EDI, Inc. monitors the performance of all servers and systems 24×7 and Direct EDI, Inc.’s network administrators are on-call 24 hours per day to attend to any emergency issues.
Direct EDI, Inc. network is fully secure and redundant starting with point of entry from the Data Center provider with redundant network drops connected to fiber carriers. The network architecture uses only top of the line, fully redundant Cisco equipment, including firewalls, content and network switches.
Direct EDI, Inc. uses only the Data Center quality servers by HP (DL360, DL380 and ML360) equipped with dual power supplies and dual network cards. The server network are setup using HP networking adapter teaming which improves network uptime by protecting the network in the event of a failure and offers better throughput by efficiently distributing traffic across server ports.
To protect our customers’ vital data, Direct EDI, Inc has deployed the latest in network backup technology utilizing a powerful suite of software and hardware from industry leaders VERITAS and Dell. Direct EDI, Inc tailors a backup schedule to meet operational requirements of each system. Critical live databases are backed up using transparent live database backup solutions which do not affect applications or user access.
