Kroger Co in the letter sent on October 18th, 2006 to their suppliers announced an enforcement of their EDI initiative. Direct EDI is already the company of choice for many of Kroger vendors and our systems are ready to service your EDI needs with Kroger.
In summary the letter states: If you are currently doing business with The Kroger Co, including Fred Meyer Stores, Smith's Food & Drug, and Fred Meyer Jewelers, it will be mandatory for you to establish EDI service by December 18th, 2006 or 60 days from receipt of The Kroger Co vendor compliance notice. Failure to establish EDI service within the provided timeframe will result in an offset of $150 from all of invoices that are not sent via EDI.
